I was not raised in a Christian home, but I had a Christian grandmother and a Pastor who visited me. After my grandmother passed away, I started going to Mt. Olive Baptist Church at the age of 19. I worked at the church for two years, but at a revival meeting an Evangelist preached from Acts 10 "Religious but Lost" and I got saved at that revival meeting at the age of 22.
I went to Tenesse Temple University and pastored the Calvary Baptist Tabernacle while studying there as a student. Then the Lord led us to start Macedonia Baptist Church in Eufala, AL and I pastored there for around 16 years. During that time, I visited the country of Honduras on five different mission trips. Each time I went I left a little part of my heart and eventually I came to where my heart was, and we have been here for the past 23 years.
Mrs. Doss is a wonderful wife, mother, teacher, and an incredible missionary. Even though, she was raised in a Christian home, she was dependent upon her good works to be sufficient. Morally she was good she had never drank or cussed, she had only one boyfriend surely she would go to heaven, but after searching the Scriptures on August 21, 1971 at a revival service she realized it was just believing in Jesus Christ for salvation hence John 3:16 is her life verse. The Doss' have 3 sons. James who works at the church they started in Eufala, AL. Steven who is the pastor at the church in Eufala, AL. And Timothy who is the Youth Pastor at God's Way Baptist Church. During those years Mrs. Doss was the K4 and K5 teacher for 12 years and faithfully serving as a pastor's wife.
These days Mrs. Doss lives in the mountains of Honduras, faithfully serving with her husband. She has been through dangerous threats, life threatening situations, and even a bout with tuberculosis, but if you saw her radiating smile, you would never know of any of those situations whatsoever. After these 23 years of ministry on the field and over 16 years as a pastor's wife, Mrs. Doss has proven herself as a faithful servant of God.
